From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Simcoe County Road 42 or locally known as Airport Road is a north-south thoroughfare in Simcoe County, Ontario (The road does not serve any airport in the area (Borden nor Collingwood), rather the name comes for the southern end of Airport Road in Mississauga, Ontario which serves Lester B. Pearson International Airport). The southern end of SC Road 42 continues as Dufferin County Road 18 at 32nd Sideroad Tosontario and the northern end terminates in Stayner at Main Street/Highway 26. The road is an alternate north-south route and parallel with Simcoe County Road 27 and Highway 400 (Ontario).
At Stayner, Ontario, Simcoe County Road 42 ends and becomes Highway 26, before it turns west between Wasaga Beach West and Collingwood. The route can be considered as an alternate route to Wasaga Beach from Toronto.
Along the road is mainly agricultural properties and a few wooded lots. Not until it reaches Stayner does the road serve residential neighbourhoods.
