Simani

Simani is a Canadian accordion/guitar music group from the south coast of Newfoundland. Simani was founded in 1977. Its name is pronounced "Sim 'n' I".
Their music is characterized by the folksy sound of their native province, including Celtic, English, and French influences. In several songs (notably "The Mummers Song" and "Planker Down"), Simani champion the Newfoundland Christmas holiday tradition of "mummers".
