Sim's position

The Sims' position, named after James Marion Sims is usually used for rectal examination, treatments and enemas. It is performed by having a patient lie on their left side, left leg extended and right leg flexed.

The position is described as follows:

1. Patient lies on their left side

2. Patient's left leg is extended behind their back

3. The patient's right leg is brought forward.
