Though the image is subject to copyright its use is within Wikipedia's non free content policies because:-

1. It is a highly stylised depiction of a lifestyle featuring in much of Simon Raven's work
2. It is reflective of Raven's own lifestyle and provides a good visual introduction to the kind of writer and individual he was, which is the main subject of the article
3. It adds significantly to the article because of this relation to the content
4. It is not used in a way that suggests that the article is written by or on behalf of the owner of the image
5. It is not replaceable by a comparable uncopyrighted image

Additional: The image is from the Prion Books Ltd edition of The World of Simon Raven, pub London, 2002 in Prion Humour Classics. The image was selected by a previous editor. Name of designer of cover not known to me.Brianboulton (talk) 11:05, 28 January 2008 (UTC)
