User talk:Silence/Core
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
What is your goal?
- to pick the core topic related and well-written articles of Wikipedia?
- or to pick the core topic articles?
Because you say Arts is removed : "just a list of links to different arts articles", but it would be a core topic article. So it won't be in the list just because it is poor? NCurse work 19:26, 18 June 2006 (UTC)

- That's not what I said, that's one of the changes that was already written there: look at the bottom of Wikipedia:Version 1.0 Editorial Team/Core topics. You must just not have noticed it. Regardless, although the topic of Arts may be noteworthy, it's already taken care of by the inclusion of Art itself (a much more well-developed, broad, and significnt topic), so there's no reason to have both on the list.
- Anyway, to answer your question: My original attempts to improve the list were essentially based solely on importance, but when my attempts to revise the list in that manner failed and I was told that the list should have as many high-quality articles as possible, I came up with this new list. Essentially, it follows the exact same philosophy as the current listing (weighing importance v. quality), it just executes that philosophy more effectively and consistently. This new list has both much higher-quality articles in general, and much more significnt ones in general: it covers all the bases effectively. -Silence 19:50, 18 June 2006 (UTC)
