[edit] License tagging for Image:IMG 99603.JPG

Thanks for uploading Image:IMG 99603.JPG. Wikipedia gets hundreds of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 03:06, 19 April 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Westsail 32

  • Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia! We welcome and appreciate your contributions, but all Wikipedia articles must meet our criteria for inclusion (see What Wikipedia is not and Deletion policy). Since it does not seem to me that Westsail 32 meets these criteria, I have started a discussion about whether this article should be kept or deleted.

Your opinion on whether this article meets the inclusion criteria is welcome. Please contribute to the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Westsail 32. Don't forget to add four tildes (˜˜˜˜) at the end of each of your comments to sign them.

Discussions such as these usually last five days. In the meantime, you are free to edit the content of the article. Please do not remove the "articles for deletion" template (the box at the top). When the discussion has concluded, an administrator will consider all comment and decide whether or not to delete the article.

  • I'm sorry that your first article has been tagged for deletion. That can be a rough experienc for newcomers but don't let it get you down. Participate in the discussion and try to improve the article. In particular, can you show that this model of boat is especially notable (for example, was it sailed by a famous person or used for a famous event)? You mentioned circumnavigation--can you mention some people who sailed this boat and provide a link or description of a reliable source? (newspaper article, boating magazine story, etc)? Good luck and hope you continue contributing. Thatcher131 04:00, 19 April 2006 (UTC)

Hi there, welcome to Wikipedia, thanks very much for adding Westsail 32, and on behalf of most of the people here, apologies for the fact that it was so rudely received. Tagging the article for deletion after just half an hour, apparently without checking whether it was notable, was, I think, a little uncalled-for — in that person's defence, Wikipedia does tend to get rather flooded with vanity articles.

Anyway, I'm pretty sure the article will survive the vote, and I certainly hope to be able to add to it. Meantime, thanks again, and please don't be put off, your contributions are most welcome! — Johan the Ghost seance (hull #412) 17:01, 19 April 2006 (UTC)

I've added some stuff to the article now. Feel free to pitch in and improve it further; there's a list of issues on the article's talk page which it would be good to address. — Johan the Ghost seance 00:33, 21 April 2006 (UTC)
