My name is Sterling and thats all i'm going to say about that. I live in Texas and I am 16 years old, my birthday being May 7th. I hope to graduate from my high school with one of the top grade point averages and get an even higher score on my Sat (I got a 2110 on my first try), as I want to go to Cornell Ivy League University in Ithaca, New York. Being an Ivy League college, it is incredibly hard to get into. I recently took the PSAT and the Plan. I got a 1900 on the PSAT. My Plan score was a 33 out of 35, so i'm not that worried about the ACT anymore.

I'm in the Academic Decathlon at my high school. I'm a junior and this is my second year in Acdec.

Last year, we did get to State, where we got second place. I'm happy for that. I hope that this year and the year after that, we will continue to go to State and possibly win it some time in the future.

I hope to become a paleontologist when I go to college, which is one reason why I chose Cornell, as it is one of the few colleges that has a paleontology Master's degree. There are a few in Texas and California that I could go to, but Cornell is by far the best. I suppose if I don't get in then I will apply to SMU, then transfer to Cornell. Either way, I am determined to get into Cornell and I won't stop until I am.

This summer I have a internship at SMU's (Southern Methodist University) Institute for the Study of Earth and Man (ISEM). I am really excited tat I am doing this.

I'm really lucky to even be allowed this chance, considering that i'm the first person to be allowed an internship, being a sophomore is even more amazing, in over 10 years. I am working in all the different departments there, not just paleontology, but geology and climateology as well. I'm not sure about archaology though...they didn't mention it.

Incidentally, after hearing all of the professors there talk about paleontology and other things, I have narrowed my focus to vertebrate paleontology. I want dinosaurs, but I guess this encompasses more than just that. Ancient mammals won't be that bad though. *shrugs*
