The Silverwater Women's Correctional Centre is an Australian female prison facility located in Silverwater, 15km from Sydney, Australia. It is located in amongst a number of other complexes and currently is being expanded.
Fraud is the most common reason. Visits are only allowed on Saturdays and Sundays between 8-30am to 3-15pm.for an hour and a half. It is not possible to visit during the week and it is not possible to take anything into the prison for the inmates except books and magazines. No hard backs and no spiral covers. No food or drink or other items either may be taken into the complex. Visits must be booked in advance and security checks are undertaken on all regisitered visitors.
