SILVERDOCS: AFI/Discovery Channel Documentary Festival (capitalization optional) is an American international film festival created by the American Film Institute and Discovery Channel and held every year in Silver Spring, Maryland near Washington, D.C. Started in 2002, the festival is held for six days in June in the AFI Silver. As its name may imply, SILVERDOCS is intended for showcasing documentary films. Throughout its history, SILVERDOCS has honored the very best in Documentary film making.
The 2008 edition of the festival will be two days longer than in the past, beginning on Monday June 16th and running through Monday June 23rd.
