Silver Slipper Casino is located on the beach in Hancock County, Mississippi. The Silver Slipper opened its doors for the first time on November 9, 2006. The casino has over 1,000 slots, 26 table games, including Blackjack, Craps, Roulette, Mini-baccarat, Flop Poker and 3 Card Poker, and a 9 table poker room. Silver Slipper also has three restaurants: The Jubliee Buffet, The Blue Bayou Bar and Grill (fine dining), and The Palm Court Café (24-hour eatery).

[edit] History

The casino was originally called the President Casino Broadwater Resort which was sold by President Casinos to Broadwater Development LLC on April 15, 2005. [2] Hurricane Katrina destroyed the casino barge used by the President Casino before it could be moved to its new location.

In the wake of Hurricane Katrina, the Mississippi Gaming Commission changed its casino rules where casinos can be placed on the shore. The Silver Slipper, located in Hancock County is the first ground up built casino on the Mississippi Gulf Coast. A wall inside the casino paid homage to the legacy of the Silver Slipper, a famous Vegas casino that closed its doors in 1988 but has found new life on the Mississippi Coast.
