Silver Jubilee Government Degree College

Silver Jubilee Government College is located in Kurnool, Andhra Pradesh. It is a memorial of India's Silver Jubilee Independence Celebrations.

It was established in 1972 by the Government of Andhra Pradesh. Another College in Nagarjuna Sagar was also established in this memorable situation.

Only men from Andhra Pradesh are admitted after passing an entrance test which tests applicants on various topics.

2. One has to take APRDC ( AP Residential Degree College) Entrance Test , which conducts every year in April/May to Study in Silver Jubilee College.

5. Since it is a residential college, all students must stay in the hostel. Both the new hostel and old hostel are the hotspots of intellectual discussions during the night times. The juntas gulp coffee and light cigarettes to dissect the problems of the society day after day throughout their three year stay there. The food served in the hostel is highly energetic, particularly the pongal and tamarind rice are all time favourites. Cook Naganna and his team deserve kudos for their culinary skills which gave energy to pursue the matters of the mind.

Recently a free medical camp was conducted at Silver Jubilee by Jeevika Opportunity foundation with the help of Dr.G.M.Krishna RaoM.D., and free medicines were distributed.

This college teaches life skills and three years is great fun with students all over the state from different districts. Old students from this college are in prestigious positions like IAS,IPS and also as officers in most of the government sectors.There are several NRIs who settled abroad in USA,UK,Germnay and other countries.
