Category:Sikh groups and sects

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The inclusion of a group in this category does not indicate that a sect is considered a part of Sikhism by either the sect itself or mainstream Sikhs. It merely indicates groups that have at one time or another been considered a part of the Sikh religious domain. Full details are available in the respective articles. No Sikh nor group of Sikhs, not even the Akal Takht itself, has the power to declare another Sikh or sect heretical or blasphemous. Those are Muslim concepts. Every single Sikh Guru has disavowed priests, priesthoods, and any who would set themselves up as having any kind of spiritual authority over another person.
