[edit] Masc Psychology mediation

Hi Sijo, I had made a proposal here and I was waiting for some feedback from either of you on it. My page layout maybe a little unclear, if so I apologies for that. Basically my first proposal is that the disputed material be shortened and be backed-up by another reliable source--Cailil talk 22:31, 9 July 2007 (UTC)

Hi again Sijo, I made a some more comments in light of your questions at the mediation page. I hope I've answerd them clearly. I've also suggested some sources. If you have any views or any further comments please go ahead and post them :) --Cailil talk 22:30, 18 July 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Euro

You asked if is there templete for POV. Yes there is. Look at this page; at the end of page. Nice day. --Jonson22 08:49, 13 July 2007 (UTC)

No, I asked whether there was a template for weasel without POV. Thanks anyway. Sijo Ripa 11:23, 13 July 2007 (UTC)

[edit] CFE

Sorry, I respect the amount of hard work you've put into the CFE page, but I was just trying to clarify the Russian status of withdrawal from Georgia with my edits noting exact status. Is there a way that we can include my material without destroying the sense of what you're trying to say? Buckshot06 12:34, 20 July 2007 (UTC)

[edit] References for Treaty on Conventional Armed Forces in Europe

Thank you for your improvements to the article.
It is actually valuable to put in the full name of the author(s), and the date of retrieval for references, so that it is easier to search for the reference, and to know when the reference was either last looked at, or added to the article...when the link goes dead in the future. I think you'll find that a very large fraction (nearly all) wikipedia article references use upper and lower case for the authors as well. Bill Clinton instead of B. CLINTON. See for example the references at NATO -- Best regards, Yellowdesk 15:45, 21 July 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Allied occupation of Europe

If you think this article page violates WP:NOR, WP:V, WP:POV and WP:POINT, I challenge you to take it to AfD! Martintg 22:49, 30 July 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Potential Superpower - edit undo

"Synthesis of info to advance Russia's position...."

Hi Dude

I dont understand u undoing the edit. I dont think I have "synthesised" anything (nor do I have any reason to). I thought it was worth mentioning the military and space technology it (RUS) posseses, inherited from the Soviet Union, is very relevant for a "potential power" study. Dont forget, this is how the Soviets used to exert their political agenda on to others.

Please explain ur UNDO edit, as at the moment, you made it sound like I'm "making up stuff" to "enhance" Russ position in the world !?!?! - Ash sul 11:46, 7 August 2007 (UTC)

"The sources you used do not use the term "superpower". Please read: WP:SYNTH......."
Hi Again
I see your point. But I added the piece to point out the obvious, Russia's military power. The piece above my edit argues whether or not the country will someday return to its superpower status. I think my piece is relevant to point out the military, space and energy power it posses - which was some of the aspects which made the Soviets a superpower. It doesnt necessarily argue that these alone will make Russia a superpower.
Long story short, it was simply stating some very obvious facts. Do u think hard points are not relevant in a factfinding section text?? - - Ash sul 12:49, 7 August 2007 (UTC)
"If these are very obvious, I think it won't be....."
Hmmm......I see what u mean. I will agree with ur edit for now.....and only re-edit the piece if reliable source for such study (with direct relevance to this article) is found. Thanks for clarifying this. -- Ash sul 13:58, 7 August 2007 (UTC)

[edit] License tagging for Image:Arab world and Iran.PNG

Thanks for uploading Image:Arab world and Iran.PNG. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 19:06, 11 August 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Trade, Development and Cooperation Agreement

This is an automated message from CorenSearchBot. I have perfomed a web search with the contents of Trade, Development and Cooperation Agreement, and it appears to include a substantial copy of http://europa.eu/scadplus/leg/en/lvb/r12201.htm. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material; such additions will be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences.

This message was placed automatically, and it is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article and it would be appreciated if you could drop a note on the maintainer's talk page. CorenSearchBot 15:43, 19 August 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Georgia airspace problems

Hi Sijo Ripa. Thanks for your good work on the article. I think it is actually a great idea to create a general article with an overview of the problem and a list of major incidents. First of all, we have to think of a suitable title for this article. Meanwhile, I will try to reconstruct the chronological order of all notable alleged or confirmed Russian air incursions. Cheers, KoberTalk 09:46, 26 August 2007 (UTC)

The problem here is that not all Russian air strikes were just allegations. For example, in 1999 Russian admitted that they "erroneously" bombed a village in north Georgia and apologized for the casualties. The problem dates back to the early 1990s when a civil war raged in Abkhazia. Russian aircrafts aided the Abkhaz rebels and their allies from the North Caucasus republics and bombed Georgian positions around the city of Sukhumi. Traditionally, Russian defense minister Grachev claimed that Georgians were bombing themselves in order to discredit Russia, but then admitted the truth when Georgian shot down a Russian jet and the UN mission confirmed that the deceased pilot was a Russian air force officer. While this incident can also be included in the article, I think it should basically concentrate on post-war strikes most of which occurred during the Second Chechen War from 1999 to 2002. I will soon provide sources for this period. --KoberTalk 11:21, 26 August 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Stratfor

Greetings Sijo Ripa, it looks like that stratfor article is no longer free. I think the only alow free browsing on an article for a certain period of time. It can be accessed through googles cache though. Click on this link. Pocopocopocopoco 23:48, 15 September 2007 (UTC)

Unfortunately, as you can see, the article doesn't mention an author. Pocopocopocopoco 23:53, 15 September 2007 (UTC)

Just out of curiousity, why did you find the part in the brackets any more suspicious than the rest of the sentence? Pocopocopocopoco 00:00, 16 September 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Eastern Hemisphere Maps

Thanks for the compliment on my Eastern Hemisphere maps! They take a LOT of research and time to make, but they are worth it because they help readers learn more about history and placement of peoples in various years.

Too bad some editors on certain articles seem to have a major problem with them! They were up on over 3 dozen articles (like the Roman Empire, various Germanic articles, etc.), but seem to have been removed recently with no explanation (or weak explanations that they aren't relevant to the article, even though they depict the borders of the article's subject).

Any ideas how to fight that kind of editing? Thomas Lessman 15:06, 9 October 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Breakdown cooperation NATO-EU

While I don't dispute that relations between the two organisations are not always like they should be, I disagree with the word "complete breakdown". The source used doesn't explain in any way how there is a complete breakdown. Sijo Ripa 13:36, 14 October 2007 (UTC)

Fair enough. Can we balance the stmt with a second source, and change the text without saying the opposite of the first source? -- Iterator12n Talk 16:09, 14 October 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Request for watching article:Soy cheese due to vandalism

This article (created by you) is constantly vandalized by one single user, who seems to plan its deletion or destruction (see also Talk:Soy cheese). I am watching over the article from now on, but it is better when more people interested in this subject (especially vegans, people with dairy digesting problems like lactose intolerance or Jews) are looking upon this more frequently.
Thank you :-)

[edit] Western civilization redirect

Hey, a user brought up a point I had been wondering about as well. There was an inconsistancy between Western civilisation and Western civilization, so I've redirected Western civilization to Western world, in effect reverting your change. So of course I'd be interested in your reasoning, and happy to have it changed differently (The thought just occurred to me that it might be worth a disambiguation page instead of just a redirect...).
