Sihora is located at 23.48° N 80.12° E[1]. It has an average elevation of 386 metres (1266 feet). It is the biggest tehsil of the state.

As of 2001 India census[2], Sihora had a population of 37,887. Males constitute 52% of the population and females 48%. Sihora has an average literacy rate of 68%, higher than the national average of 59.5%: male literacy is 75%, and female literacy is 59%. In Sihora, 15% of the population is under 6 years of age.

sihora has some good schools that attract the nearby village parents to send their wards to sihora , the graduate college that is named after shayam sunadar agarwaal was renowned in days of yore,but now the building stands in dilapidated state,pandit vishnu dutt H.S. school turned a model school recently, apart from these their are lalchand,janta school that are also known for value for money education , RSS (the hindu right wing) also runs a school saraswati albeit from behind the scene,lately many so called convent school are also started that boast to be English medium but that is where the English ends,these so called English medium school are tapping the bourgeois mindset of parents. Also there are primary school aangaanwadi like hindi school. The education scene is mostly uninspiring but thanks to proximity to jabalpur the talent is not totally lost because of want of resources.
