[edit] Edit summaries

Hello. Please don't forget to provide an edit summary, which wasn't included with your recent edit to United Kingdom. Thank you. -- Jza84 · (talk) 18:17, 22 December 2007 (UTC)

No problem. I'm on a small crusade at the moment to encourage more users to use them. Looking through edit histories on a regular basis, it's really difficult to know to who and when to attribute certain changes and get in touch with them.
On the issue of ERII being head of state in several other countries, I'd be looking for other encyclopedias and history books that take that stance to assert it important enough to mention in the lead. That is to say, I support its inclusion, but can understand the flipside without proving its importance. -- Jza84 · (talk) 18:27, 22 December 2007 (UTC)

[edit] United Kingdom

Welcome to Wikipedia. It might not have been your intention, but your recent edit removed content from United Kingdom. When removing text, please specify a reason in the edit summary and discuss edits that are likely to be controversial on the article's talk page. If this was a mistake, don't worry; the text has been restored, as you can see from the page history. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia, and if you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. Thank you. JdeJ (talk) 20:17, 16 January 2008 (UTC)

The links you provided don't work and didn't register in the references. Please use the sandbox if you want to experiment. And to avoid and editing war, please use the talk page to reach a consensus before making edits. Especially if you have no sources or sources that are either non-authorative or older than the current source. Thanks JdeJ (talk) 20:17, 16 January 2008 (UTC)

Alright, it's time you drop it. First you give us a web page of an unknown individual as a source, then you use an outdated estimate. Removing valid sources, as you have done, is vandalism. Once and for all, the Financial Times is one of the best respected sources in the world of economy. If you don't like the fact that France has overtaken the UK, that's of no relevance whatsoever. JdeJ (talk) 20:37, 16 January 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Deleting information at France

Returning over and over again to your refusal to accept that France has overtaken the UK's economy, you deleted information from the intro to France and in your edit summary said that you did it "at request". Would you care to tell at whose request that information was deleted? Nobody had requested it except yourself, on the contrary, so please mark your edits in more correct way in the future. Thanks JdeJ (talk) 12:24, 17 January 2008 (UTC)

[edit] January 2008

You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on France. Note that the three-revert rule prohibits making more than three reversions in a content dispute within a 24 hour period. Additionally, users who perform a large number of reversions in content disputes may be blocked for edit warring, even if they do not technically violate the three-revert rule. If you continue, you may be blocked from editing. Please do not repeatedly revert edits, but use the talk page to work towards wording and content that gains a consensus among editors. If necessary, pursue dispute resolution. [1] [2] [3] [4] Technically you have violated the WP:3RR rule. Since I am guessing that you are not aware of this rule, I am not blocking you but please keep in mind that if you continue reverting the page to "your" version, you will be blocked. -- lucasbfr talk 17:48, 17 January 2008 (UTC)

I have warned both of you (but you're the only one having violated 3RR), please everyone go on the talk page. If you can't come to a consensus you can use our dispute resolution processes, for example get a third opinion. -- lucasbfr talk 17:53, 17 January 2008 (UTC)
If you don't mind my commenting, might I suggest that if you're going to block either of these users, you block the other guy. He obviously is wrong to include or change something without bringing up discussion on it first. User:Signsolid obviously cares about the article for France; you should not block a user who cares deeply about any articles or anything to do with France. [edit] Westminster Abbey

The reasons why it's not been included:

  • The interior of the Abbey itself is French in style rather than English. This article only has room for a few photos of that type of interior and there happens to be a 'brilliant photo of Coutances available.
  • It's very hard to get any decent pics of the interior.
  • The exterior is not useful because the facade is much later, and other parts of the building have been heavily restored in the 19th c.
  • If there was a great pic of the interior of Henry VII's chapel, it could go where the pic of Bath Abbey is, but the pic af Bath Abbbey is of exceptional quality.

So it's not just a matter of putting it in because it's famous. This article is not a list of famous Gothic buildings. It's written to help readers understand an know more about Gothic buildings. So this means chosing the best pics available to illustrate the point being made.

As you have probably noticed, there is a gallery of pics at the bottom, and I may include some of them, in a slightly different way. If I can find the Abbey, it might go in, in the right context.

[edit] War in Afghanistan

you reverted my edit without any explanation.[5] the report on human rights violations in Afghanistan occurred in 2003 mostly by the Northern Alliance who were temporary in power at the time, so it's important that we mention it was in 2003 and not a latest report. I further removed the last sentence because it is untrue about Afghan National Army and Afghan National Police often threatening politcal organizers and journalists. Afghan army and police are trained and monitored by NATO forces and there are no reports of them doing such activities for it to be mentioned here in the war in Afghanistan article. it's the taliban that are often threatening political organizers and journalists but not the Afghan army of its police force. I'm gonna fix what you did wrong and please do not revert again.--119.30.71.109 (talk) 22:17, 7 March 2008 (UTC)

[edit] May be interested

As you are the current copy right holder of the image on the page man you may be interested in my edit here. It basically says we need images from more than one perspective. I posted the same thing on the woman page so if you have any images for that page they would be appreciated also...--Cameron (t/c) 20:45, 30 March 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Reversions without reading what you're reverting

Please explain this edit. Why are you reverting to a vandalized version of an article? Blind reversions without reading what you're reverting to is as bad as the original vandalism itself. Corvus cornixtalk 20:39, 10 April 2008 (UTC)

[edit] April 2008

You have been blocked from editing for a period of 24 hours in accordance with Wikipedia's blocking policy for violating the three-revert rule . Please be more careful to discuss controversial changes or seek dispute resolution rather than engaging in an edit war. If you believe this block is unjustified, you may contest the block by adding the text {{unblock|your reason here}} below. ScarianCall me Pat! 21:36, 10 April 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Image source problem with Image:William Fox Superpowers.png

Image Copyright problem

Thanks for uploading Image:William Fox Superpowers.png. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, their copyright should also be acknowledged.

As well as adding the source, please add a proper copyright licensing tag if the file doesn't have one already. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 17:26, 28 May 2008 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Sfan00 IMG (talk) 17:26, 28 May 2008 (UTC)
