Sigismund Bachrich

Sigismund Bachrich (January 23, 1841 - July 16, 1913), also known as Sigmund Bachrich, was a Hungarian composer, violinist, and violist.

He was born in Nyitrazsambokret in 1841. He studied violin at the Vienna Conservatoire from 1851 to 1857 with Joseph Böhm. He became a professor there himself. He died in Austria, either Grimmenstein or Vienna.

He composed for the opera, including Muzzedin (1883), Heini von Steier (1884), and Der Fuchs-Major (1889).

He played the viola with the Hellmesberger Quartet.
