[edit] General features

Like other Sigs, the P250 is a short recoil operated, locked breech pistol. It is available with a 3.86" barrel only and a 16 round magazine. It weighs about 1.5 lb with an empty magazine. It comes with combat-type sights with Siglite Night Sights, and the frame has an integral picatinny rail. It is available with a Nitron or two tone finish.[2] The P250 was designed to be ambidextrous in handling. The firearm can be stripped down with no tools.

The pistol has a modular design. It has an integrated fire control group and rails, the firearm's serial number is on the fire control group instead of the frame. This allows the operator to exchange the polymer frames to fit different needs. The pistol can be easily converted to other calibers as well.

There are 3 grip module sizes, small, medium, and large, in each of the classifications of full-sized, compact, and subcompact. The same fire control mechanism can be swapped into any of these combinations, and the top ends can be converted from 9mm, 40s&w, 357sig, and 45auto. However, different grip module sizes must be matched with the corresponding caliber conversion uppers. That is to say, you cannot mate a subcompact grip module to a full-sized slide and receiver.

[edit] Trigger system

The trigger is an optimized self-decocking DAO trigger system with spurless hammer, and no manual safeties. The automated firing pin safety prevents accidental discharges if the gun is dropped or roughly handled. The trigger system has a pull weight of about 5.5 lbf (3.9 kgf, 38 N)[3] and will not reset until completely released.[4]
