[edit] Sources required

This article needs sources on what it written there (Indiaworld acquisition) and some reliable information just on what the company is about, but nothing spammy (advertisement, etc). -Mardus 18:46, 28 June 2006 (UTC)

Also, it does not cover the controversies surrounding Sify, I am planning to add them soon. --Venkatesh 19:53, 12 January 2007 (UTC)

The IndiaWorld deal was not challenged to be controversial by SEBI as alleged. There were reactions in the media on the price paid by Sify. However, Sify did not raise money first and then pay it to acquire IndiaWorld. Sify did the deal first, went to the market and got the market to endorse the deal by providing cash; while the price itself was questioned by media, corporate governance of Sify was not questioned in the media or by the regulator SEC in USA. Since Sify was not listed in India, SEBI did not play any role in regulating Sify.
