Sife Esen

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Sife Esen is the SIFE team of the Escuela Superior de Economía y Negocios (El Salvador). For more information, visit http://www.esen.edu.sv/

It was founded by a group of economics students in 2005. Since its foundation, the SIFE team has carried out several projects to help Salvadoran communities in need. This is a "process of social responsibility" through which students can learn about this necessary aspect of corporate life, which serves as work experience before getting their degree and venturing into a job environment. Sife Esen has worked in many fields and continues to do so. Among these are the gathering of necessities and cleaning products for an orphanage, as well as providing basic finance education to communities neighboring the university campus.

[edit] Active projects

Currently, Sife Esen is working in Canton El Chaquiton, a rural community. Here workshops on handcrafted flower making, baking, English, and entrepreneurship are being imparted. Sife Esen has been assisting this community for six months. During this time, 27 members have been involved, positively influencing the lives of approximately 75 inhabitants of Canton El Chaquiton. Since the Canton is so isolated, it is in great need of new businesses - hence the challenge faced by Sife Esen to effectively help the community. It's worthy mentioning that the Canton is locate in El Salvador's coastal region (approximately one kilometer from the Pacific shore), in an area with a vast wealth of environmental resources. Therefore, tourism emerges as a priority sphere of activity to be encouraged by Sife Esen.
