About SierraSix

This username is reserved for the pending name change from User:Swatjester to User:SierraSix

United States Army veteran. Tour in Operation Iraqi Freedom, tour in Operation Enduring Freedom. Was a sniper in a recon platoon of an infantry company. Used the M24 SWS, briefly played with the M21 rifle. Served quite a bit of time as a spotter, using an M16 rifle. Finished my service as a regular recon scout, using the M4 carbine. I like to edit military, law enforcement, and firearms related articles. To a large degree, they are free from the nationalism and polemic vitriol that plague other articles. Guns are guns. They are extremely neutral. They don't hold a bias either way: they're either well made, or not. What people do with them, is a whole different subject, that I try to stay out of.

My current weapons array consists of:

My newest project is going to be:

  • Creation of a XM25 sniper rifle, a variation of the M21 sniper rifle. I will either be buying one flat out at a good price, or be modifying a Springfield Armory M1A rifle, in .308.
  • Also, I am looking for AR-15 upper and lower receivers, completes, at good rates, preferably less than 300 dollars per receiver. If you know of any, I'd be more than happy to purchase them.
  • I just ordered a Walther P22 with Coestal sound suppressor. It will probably be a few weeks before I get it, but I intend then to upload the pictures here.

I will likely add to this section further.

I can't say I have a lot to go here. I'm not inexperienced with Wikipedia. I've edited as an IP (god knows which one), and I've had an account before in the past. The prior account had a clean block history, and no real issues. I just thought it was time to start afresh. See at the very top for info. SierraSixsnipe 01:00, 29 May 2007 (UTC)

I can be found in #wikipedia, and #wikipedia-en on IRC. If you're looking for me, say so, and if I'm on, I'll get in touch with you somehow.

Useful thoughts

  • Treat the admins with deference and respect. Through the RFA process, they basically pass a peer-review of their knowledge on policy. That means they likely understand it better than you do. So give them a bit of deference.
  • The 09 F9 key controversy is stupid. Why would we wait until Wikipedia gets a takedown order, to remove something quite possibly illegal at the very least controversial, and completely non-beneficial to the encyclopedia? What benefit does this number bring, other than informing users of the full number, which is a circumvention method? If you want to identify it, call it 09 F9. Including the full length of the key does nothing but put Wikipedia and the Wikimedia foundation in a vulnerable position, especially with no more General Counsel to defend them. This is not the time to be playing with fire.
