Talk:Siege of Nicaea (disambiguation)
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
wait !!! There is another siege in 1331, please see Siege of Nicaea 1331 and revert back to original page!! This page was suppose to lead to either the siege in 1331 or 1097!Tourskin 19:03, 22 December 2006 (UTC)
- Obviously some one vandalized the article by deleting the two links. So I protected it and now you can all see that in fact we do need this as there are two different sieges of Nicaea.Tourskin 19:03, 22 December 2006 (UTC)
It wasn't vandalism. Don't need a disambiguation page when there are only two articles. Use top hats in the article like:
-
- This article is about siege 1. See also siege 2
There is no reason for this dab page to exist because no articles point to it. The only reason would be if a top hat said:
-
- See siege (disambiguation) for other uses.
Which of course is not the case anywhere. Don't need this dab page (unless you think there will be a third siege).

[edit] Ok
Fair enough, if the wiki rules say you need more than two, then take it. Tourskin 15:04, 23 December 2006 (UTC)
- I guess it doesn't really matter, if a third siege shows up in the future we will need it anyway, so might as well keep it. I imagine Nicaea was sieged more than twice in history. -- Stbalbach 15:39, 23 December 2006 (UTC)
Good point. It was besieged many times:
- When the Persians took it during the Greco-Persian wars, I imagine
- When the Romans took it sometime between the 2nd and 3rd centruy BC
- When the Romans lost it to the Seljuks in 1077
- When the Seljuks lost it to the Romans 1096
- When the Ottomans took it 1331
