Siethen

Siethen is a village and a part of the city Ludwigsfelde and belongs to the district of Teltow-Fläming in the federal state Brandenburg. The name Siethen means "land of corn".

The village has a population of 600 inhabitants (2004), a size of 14,48 km² and is located 3 km in the west of the town Ludwigsfelde, to which Siethen belongs since some years.

Siethen has its own church which is worth seeing. The church was erected in the 14th century. The church is located in the village center.

Siethen has also a small castle. It was erected in the 19th century and later on used as a hospital and refugee camp. Today is used as borstl.

There is some business going on in Siethen. In the agriculture sector the farm "Spargelhof Siethen" is well known for their asparagus and other quality products. The farm is located opposite the church. For the leisure and holiday times Siethen is a perfect place. With the lake and the surrounding scenery there good possbilities to swim, walk and to pedal.
