Sierra Northern Railway

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Sierra Northern Railway[1] (AAR SERA) originates from the Sacramento Northern Railway, the Northern Electric Railway, the Sierra Railroad, Western Pacific Railroad, and Yolo Shortline Railroad. It handles all freight operations and track maintenance for its parent company, the Sierra Railroad Company. The tracks that are maintained by Sierra Northern are also used by the Sierra Railroad Company's tourist trains - the "Sierra Railroad Dinner Train"[2] at Oakdale, California, USA; the "Skunk Train" over the former California Western Railroad and the "Sacramento RiverTrain" over the former Yolo Shortline Railroad at Woodland, CA.
