Sierra Leone National Premier League is the top football league in Sierra Leone. It was founded in 1967. To date a club outside Freetown has never won the league. The league is sponsored by the Sierra Leone Commercial Bank. East End Lions and Mighty Blackpool and the two biggest and most successful clubs. The National Premier League is controlled by the Sierra Leone Football Association.

Fourteen clubs compete in the league, playing each other twice, once at home and once away. At the end of the season the bottom two clubs are relegated to the Sierra Leone National First Division, the second highest football league in Sierra Leone. The top two teams qualify for the CAF Champions League, while the third place team or the winner of the Sierra Leonean FA Cup will qualify for the CAF Confederation Cup. If the winner of the Sierra Leonean FA Cup has already qualify for the CAF Champions League, the Confederations Cup sport will go to the third place team in the table.

- East End Lions vs Mighty Blackpool (battle of the powerhouses)
This is the biggest domestic football match in Sierra Leone. It is the battle between two of the country's biggest, richest, most popular clubs, as well as the two clubs with the largest fan base. Lions traditionally represents the east end of Freetown, while Blackpool represent central and west end of the capital.
- East End Lions vs Ports Authority (East End Freetown derby)
The battle of the two biggest clubs not only from the east end of Freetown, but the entire country . Both clubs are always expected to compete for the title. Ports Authority who are known as the water front boys are widely considered to be the third biggest and most dominant club, although F.C. Kallon may claim to be the third biggest.
- Diamond Stars vs Kamboi Eagles (Eastern derby)
The Diamond Stars of Kono and the Kamboi Eagles of Kenema are the two biggest clubs from the east of the country. Diamond Stars is always the favorite in this match but the Kamboi Eagles of Kenema are always ready to challenge them.
- Wusum Stars vs Golden Dragon (Northern derby)
This match used to be between the province's two biggest clubs the Wusum Stars of Makeni and the Bai Bureh Warriors of Port Loko, but the Warriors have been relegated to the second division; however, another clubs named the Golden Dragon of Magburaka have come up from the second division and they ready to fight the Wusum Stars to the end.
- Bo Rangers vs Nepean Stars (battle of Bo)
Premier League new boys the Nepean Stars from Bo pose a serious threat to the city's biggest club Bo Rangers
