Siemens Pakistan

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Siemens Pakistan Engineering Company Limited is based in Karachi, Sindh, Pakistan. It is subsidiary of Siemens. In 2006, Siemens Pakistan was employed by Al Jomaih Group as the Operations and Management (O&M) contractor for Karachi Electric Supply Company (KESC). The contract was mismanaged and under its terms, a debate escalated on who was responsible for software and service outages that were experienced. Rumour is rife about bribes paid by the company to government officials for the contract. Sources say that this is the reason why no one is willing to bell the cat and announce poor governance strategies which were employed. The Siemens-KESC debacle is another example of private sector participation going awry.
