Siege of the Saxons
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Siege of the Saxons is a 1963 British film directed by Nathan H. Juran.
It is a historical epic, set in the time of King Arthur.
The cast includes John Laurie as Merlin, and Janette Scott.
The historical setting is very confused. It shows the Romano-British Arthur repelling an invasion of the Saxons, but Arthur's court contains details taken from medieval England, e.g. carrying a coat of arms combining the English lion and the French fleur-de-lys.
