The Siege of Trebizond in 1205 to 1206 was an attempt by the Seljuk Sultanate of Iconium to take the city along the Black Coast. Prior to this, the Seljuks had successfully taken cities in Western Asia Minor and from their Danishmend Turk rivals. The Turks failed to capture the city. In the end, Kay Khusrau turned his attention against the Nicaean Empire, siezing Antalya. However, the Sultan over-stretched his capabilities when he was killed in the Siege of the Nicaean capital in 1210.
