Sidetracked is a 1995 novel by Swedish writer Henning Mankell, the fifth in his acclaimed Kurt Wallander series. Upon translation into American English by Steven T. Murray in 1999 and its release in the UK in 2001, the novel won the Crime Writers' Association Gold Dagger for best crime novel of the year. Sidetracked is the first Wallander novel to be adapted for the BBC television series Wallander.
