Siddharth Anand

Siddharth Anand (also known as Siddharth Raj Anand) is an Indian film director. He is the son of film producer Bittu Anand who produced the Amitabh Bachchan hit, Shahenshah. Anand's grandfather was screenwriter Indra Raj Anand who wrote 120 films including Safar, Sangam and Ek Duje Ke Liye. Anand is also the nephew of a prominent Hindi film actor, Tinnu Anand.

Anand began his film career by helping Rahul Rawail direct his film Kuch Khathi Kuch Meethi, that starred Kajol. He then co-wrote the 2004 hit Hum Tum along with Kunal Kohli and also worked as an executive producer and associate director on the film.

When 27, Anand directed Salaam Namaste, starring Saif Ali Khan and Preity Zinta. The film was one of the biggest hits of 2005 and its success helped him establish himself as a director in the Hindi film industry.

Anand's second venture, Ta Ra Rum Pum was released in April 2007. The film stars Saif Ali Khan (who appears in all of his films) and Rani Mukerji but the overall box office collections were average for the film.

Anand is currently filming Bachna Ae Haseeno starring Bipasha Basu,Minissha Lamba,Deepika Padukone and Ranvir Kapoor which is due to release on August 15th, 2008.

He is one of the six directors working for Yashraj Films, owned by director and producer Yash Chopra.
