Sicanian language

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Sicanian language is the extinct language of the ancient Sicanians of Sicily, Italy. Little is known about the language. However, the language had linguistic ties to the those of Iberia.[1]

Since the Sicanians migrated to, and were the first settlers to arrive on Malta, the language would have been spoken by the population there, and was an influencing factor in the creation of the Maltese language today.
