From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Sibylle of Burgundy (b. 1126 – d. Salerno, 16 September 1150) was the second Queen consort of Roger II of Sicily.

[edit] Family

She was a daughter of Hugh II, Duke of Burgundy and his wife Felicia-Matilda of Mayenne.

Her maternal grandparents were Gauthier, Count of Mayenne and Adelina de Presles.

[edit] Marriage, Issue and Death

In 1149, Sibylle married Roger II of Sicily. On 29 August of that year, she gave birth to a son (apparently premature) called Henry, who died young.

One year later she became pregnant a second time. Sybille gave birth to a stillborn child and died of complications of the childbirth. She was buried in the Monastery of the Trinity de la Cava de Tirreni.
