In responsing to Madrona beach's article on ceramic houses my first impression was that the article, being about construction practices, could use more pictures to illustrate concepts easily represented visually. The introducation to the piece dows do well in outlining the subject's main points. I feel that the introduction would be even more explainatory by going into greater detail about how the house is physically constructed. Though this information does appear later in the article a short synopsis of it would be helpful in visuallizing the construction more clearly from the start. A good point was brought up in the introduction that I would have liked to see followed up on more in the body of the document. This is referring to the earthquake resistance of the structure. How is it earthquake resistant and why? Has houses been through earthquakes? How big where they and how did the houses fair? I am particularly interested in this, because I am from earthquake country and like to be informed about the structural soundness of varies construction methods. Overall an informative and ingaging article.
The article on Passive Solar Design has straight-forward and easy to understand content. The introduction and graphics are noteworthy. The referencing begins out strong, but ends up overall minimal. A citation is needed in the "Pragmatic Passive Solar Energy Use" section. I got lost in the section entitled, "Minimal Machinery" because of the wealth of undefined terms. The article ended strong with a reference to noted solar designers.
Sia82,
I am unclear as to how to post pictures on Wikipedia. There is an issue about copyright, and I didn't understand how that worked. Maybe you could show me. Thanks for the input.
