Sorry about hte gorilla image! I cut'n'pasted the taxobox from the gorilla article and then edited it. I guess I didn't edit it quite enough ;)--Mishac 19:32, 23 Feb 2004 (UTC)

Oh, that's quite alright; we've all suffered from "copy & paste syndrome" at one point or another (myself included). Nice work on the article! :) Hadal 19:35, 23 Feb 2004 (UTC)

Put a line in about threats to siamang... been working out there a lot recently and even seen siamang having to come down to the ground and run through the clearance areas - it is quite a sight.

Neat! - UtherSRG (talk) 14:00, 9 April 2006 (UTC)

Can we change the taxonomy box? The siamang was classified as Symphalangus until 1972 when it was reabsorbed into Hylobates - (Reference - Geissmann T. 1994. Systematik der gibbons. Z Koelner Zoo 37(2):65-77. --Cockroach.org.uk 08:48, 9 April 2006 (UTC)

Nope. Goodman et al (1998) split it off again, and Groves (2001a) confirmed the split. Geissmann is even in on the split now (see his systemics page and our use of it in Hylobatidae). - UtherSRG (talk) 14:00, 9 April 2006 (UTC)

Thanks for the up to date info ;) --Cockroach.org.uk 09:22, 10 April 2006 (UTC)

[edit] albino siamang

I've removed the rest of the albino text. Personal Observation is a form of original research, and that is not allowed in Wikipedia. - UtherSRG (talk) 03:12, 5 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Syndactylus--which two fingers?

"...two fingers on each hand are fused together (hence the name "syndactylus")." Which two fingers would these be? 140.147.160.34 (talk) 14:15, 13 February 2008 (UTC)Stephen Kosciesza
