[edit] Citation needed for Oxford University claim

Given that Lloyd studied Celtic Studies at Cardiff, it is unclear to me which meteorology course she might have dropped out of at Oxford. A Department of Continuing Education one? It is unlikely that Lloyd was ever an undergraduate at Oxford and there doesn't seem to be an obvious postgraduate course that she might have done there.

[edit] Removal of contentious item about Lembit Opik

I intend to remove the line referencing Opik's alleged instability as inappropriate and inaccurate and nothing to do with the main subject.

For the record, the need to consider preparation for Global Geophysical events such as asteroids is accepted by many scientists.

Asteroid protection plan proposed.

Opik was merely politically ahead of his time in raising the issue.
