I think the image is terrible. While official, the SMRPG shots are just lame, and don't show off Shy Guy as much as they should. I'm not sure about the Game Boy Advance version, but I'm positive there are no Shy Guys in the SNES version of Super Mario World. Does anyone know about the GBA version? --Mattrichers 19:06, July 22, 2005 (UTC)

I don't see any in the GBA version (unless they are in a secret level) it doesn't even mention them in the manual.

[edit] Shy Guy reference to Japanese culture?

In Spirited Away there is a character that looks closely like a Shy Guy. As Spirited Away is a movie about Japanese old culture, I wonder if Shy Guy therefore resembles some character from traditional Japan. --Abdull 12:58, 21 August 2005 (UTC) You know, he does. I have noticed many times that the guy in spirited away looks like a shyguy, but I have never noticed that a shyguy looks like the guy in spirited away!

The Shy Guy mask also resembles the faces of Gyroids from Animal Crossing, which are based on haniwa, which would certainly make it a culture reference. ^_^ --Shroom Mage 04:48, 16 February 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Merge with Fly Guy Request

Merge:: I think Fly Guy should be merged into this article because first of all, Fly Guy is similar to a Shy Guy, and secondly, because the Fly Guy article is a stub. Gamerforever 14:55, 14 March 2006 (UTC)

I don't think flyguy should be merged into shyguy, after all, a flyguy is a different type of shyguy, I beleive this article should stay where it is, but in the shyguy artice they should have a section of different type of shy guys, and have the first part of the flyguy artice in that section, then linking to the main article. ~VNinja~

In the original Final Fantasy 2 for the NES, there was a tribe that lived in an underground cave that look like shyguys. Right down to the sprites.

I don't know about the others but I was positive that "Fly Guys" were actually called "Shy Aways" and "Stilt Guys" were called Shy Stilts

Fly Guys are different from Shy Aways. Fly Guys have propellors on their heads while Shy Aways have wings and spears. Shy Aways are the same as Beezos, pretty much. I think they even have the same Japanese name. Agent CH 17:07, 10 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Shyguys, suits and Yoshi's Island DS

I was playing Yoshi's Island DS and played through World 4-8 (Six-Face Sal's castle) for the first time. I noticed something surprising: There is a background which is full of Shyguys doing almost everything you can imagine. In an area, there are Shyguy suits of different colours hung up on a washing line. Does this mean that not only is their mask removable, but also their suits? Okay, before I say this, I want you all to know that I'm not a flamer (or whatever) but I sorta noticed this (and I'm sure nintenedo never intended this).
