[edit] Summary

Sample of Shy FX's Original Nuttah (SOUR), 1994

Rationale for fair use

This 30 second clip of Shy Fx's Original Nuttah is used for the purposes of criticism and comment on the article on drum & bass. It is intended, in the context of scholarship, to inform the reader of the sound of drum & bass music and Shy Fx while not displacing the original product. It is of interest as it mentions Kingston, Rude bwoys and contains raaga vocals. It is also a seminal track for drum & bass.

According to section 107 of the United States Copyright Act of 1976:

The fair use of a copyrighted work...for purposes such as criticism, comment,...scholarship...is not an infringement of copyright.  [1]

The clip is used for non-profit purposes and represents only a fraction of the actual work. These two factors are noted as relevant by the Act.
