The contest department of the WikiProject Rugby union aims to motivate increased quality in rugby union articles by offering a form of friendly competition for project members making improvements to them. The primary contest available is a simple rolling competition that awards points for improving articles, as originally developed by the LGBT studies WikiProject and refined by WikiProject Military history.

[edit] Contest rules
The contest is fairly simple in structure:
Ending class | ||||
---|---|---|---|---|
Beginning class |
Start | B/GA | FA | |
None/Stub | +2 | +6 | +16 | |
Start | +5 | +15 | ||
B/GA | +10 |
- Editors wishing to enter will select an article they will work on; multiple articles may be selected, if desired. They will then have until the end of the month to make improvements to it.
- At the end of the month—or earlier, by request—the article will be evaluated, and points will be awarded based on its standing in the project's quality scale before and after the improvements made.
- Editor's point totals will be tracked, and monthly, quarterly, and annual winners will be recognised by the project.
- Additional +1 point for every successful Did you know? nomination.
- Extra 50% points bonus for articles listed below.
- For successful featured picture, list or portal nominations you get +5 points.
[edit] Bonus articles
These articles have been selected as bonus articles. This entitles contributors to +50% points for their successful improvement. So for example if the article was improved from B class to FA class the contributor would get 15 points rather then 10. For these articles points may be split between collaborative editors (maximum three).
