[edit] Features

[edit] Organization and Editing

For organizing photos, Shutterfly Studio has file importing and tracking features, as well as tags and collections for further sorting. It also offers several photo editing functions, including color enhancement, red eye reduction, tooth whitening, cropping, and some effects. Other features include slide shows, sharing, local and remote printing and interacting with the Shutterfly web site.

[edit] Keywords

Shutterfly uses a private database to keep track of keywords, ratings and captions for each image. In addition to this, Shutterfly can export this data in XMP format to JPG files. Keywords attached to JPG files via XMP in Studio can be read by other image library software like Windows Vista, Adobe Photoshop, and Adobe Bridge.

[edit] Searching

Shutterfly Studio has an innovative search UI that allows any viewable set of data to be further refined by selecting from a list of items that are relevant. Boolean searches can be performed graphically by changing "and's" to "or's" and selecting "exclusions".

[edit] Backup

When edits are made in Studio, a copy of the original file is made in an adjacent directory called "Photo Originals". Studio can restore the original at any time by accessing the saved copy.
