Shuqun Primary School

Shuqun Primary School ""树群小学""is a primary school located in Jurong West, Singapore.
The school started in 1925 as Tuan Cheng Public School. In 1933, the school registered as Seh Chuan High School with the department of education under British rule. It closed for 3 years during the Japanese occupation of Singapore and opened again in 1946. By 1964, It became a full school with primary and secondary classes.
Due to the limited space, the school could not meet with the growing number of students, hence, the school met with officials form the Ministry of Education who offered to take over the school as a government school. In 1984, the school increased to be a full school. It became Shuqun Primary school and Shuqun Secondary School, both schools under the same administrative staff. The two schools were then moved to two different locations in Jurong East.
In 2006, the school realigned the strategic thrusts to embrace the 3 key areas of education - Nuturing a star in every shuqunite, Best place to learn and work and Community for us, we for community. Since then, the vision of the school was To be a caring, joyful and vibrant learning community of innovation, creativity and enterprise and our mission was To nurture a star in every Shuqunite so that each member has a passion for learning and the knowledge, skills and values to make a positive contribution to human progress.
In 2007 the school created a podcast studio it named "Channel E Studio", to used for creating podcasts on the subject of the environment. [1]
