ShroudFilm is the auteur label for UK independent film-maker Laurie Goulding, based in Derbyshire, England. Although his main output is largely commercial or corporate videos for private clients, he often works on short films and music videos.
His most notable work to date has been the music video Virgin Boeuf, which has seen airplay on several UK music television channels, and also on the BBC as a short film in its own right. The video controversially showed scenes of murder and cannibalism, but because of the tongue-in-cheek style and almost camp silent-era aesthetic, it was not edited before broadcast but rather screened with a disclaimer to that effect.
Work listed as 'currently in progress' in the ShroudFilm studio as of February 2007 includes Transmission, a modern horror short inspired by the works of H. P. Lovecraft and partially funded by the Monsters In Print group.
