Shrewsbury Abbey (railway station)
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Shrewsbury Abbey was a railway station and, later, depot in Shrewsbury, Shropshire, England.
Opposite Shrewsbury Abbey, the station was a terminus of the Shropshire and Montgomeryshire Railway and had been built because permission for the railway to use Shrewsbury railway station had been denied. The site is now occupied by a surface car park, although a station building and platform remain. There are currently plans to restore the station as a tourist information centre and possibly a cafe.
