Shreveport Rugby Football Club
[edit] History
Founded in 1977, with a supporting crew of members including Paul Dinkins, Mike Pass, Steve Timmons, and Bill Gallien, The Shreveport Rugby Football Club was off the ground with a trail blazing 0-3 record.
Things have changed since the inception of the club, with many new faces and families entering and leaving the Shreveport/Bossier Rugby Scene. Currently, Shreveport Rugby Football Club plays an 18 match season, and travels to Tournaments throughout the Southeastern United States. The hundreds of active and social members keep the torch lit and are always focused on "the spirit of the game." Since the first winning season in 1979, the club has seen both lean and bountiful times, and continues to focus on becoming the best club in the Texas Rugby Union.
The Shreveport Rugby Football Club is a member of the Texas Rugby Union. The Northeast Division consists of Dallas Athletic Rugby Club, Denton Rugby Football Club, Arlington Rugby Football Club, Fort Hood Rugby Football Club, and Shreveport Rugby Football Club. The club is a Division II team.
