Shoebox is a Canadian bookworm, blogger and all-around iconoclast...all of which have combined to give her literary ambitions. While waiting for her first article to be published she discovered the TV Tropes Wiki, and soon learned to regard it as a most excellent way to distract herself from emailing her editor every ten seconds or so.

A chance link led her to the AFd discussion pages here, and much interesting and informative reading. Now she ventures with respect - if not actual trembling - onto the main project, asking only that more experienced editors be assured of her good intentions and patient with her mistakes. Her particular fields of expertise are mainly literary, historical and TV-related, and in fact she rather enjoys being able to contribute comparatively offbeat or obscure items.
