{{{1}}} ([[Roman numerals|]]) was a [[{{{2}}} year starting on {{{3}}}]] of the Gregorian calendar. In the Chinese Calendar it is the [[Year of the {{{4}}}]] and in the western astrological calendar it is the year of [[{{{5}}} (astrology)|{{{5}}}]], the [[{{{6}}}]].

This is used to create the first sentence of an article about a year.

Usage: :{{ShowYear|number|type|Startday|Animal|Sign|SignAnimal}}
Where

number is the year, e.g. 1992, 2000 etc. It also converts the Roman numeral for that year
type is either leap or common depending on whether or not it was a leap year
Startday is the day of the week the year starts on
Animal is the Chinese animal for that year
Sign is which astrological sign of that year
SignAnimal is what animal the sign is


Sample Usage:

{{ShowYear|2000|leap|Saturday|Dragon|Leo|Lion}}

produces:
2000 (MM) was a leap year starting on Saturday of the Gregorian calendar. In the Chinese Calendar it is the Year of the Dragon and in the western astrological calendar it is the year of Leo, the Lion.
