Shot-peened aluminium sheet, for example, resembles white stone, and was used in the expansion of the Hearst Memorial Mining Building at the University of California, Berkeley.
If you follow the link to the mining building page it specifically says that the aluminium sheet and modern design were chosen to separate the new part of the building from the old, not because they look alike. And they don't look alike, anyway, see the pic. Romana 19:57, 10 May 2007 (UTC)
