Talk:Shopko Stores

Bay Park Square, a mall that has a ShopKo store in it. This may be the worst sentence on Wikipedia, or at least the worst excuse to link to something.

- Looking on the web site, it looks like the green logo is the one currently being used on the web site - it looks like the white logo is the one used on most communications made by the company. So I moved the color logo to another portion of the logo, and put the green and white logo near the top.

[edit] New logo to replace existing logo
I found out about when the new ShopKo logo will be put to use in 2007 and 2008. Read more about it here.[5][6]
[edit] Business type
Why does it say that ShopKo is a private business? Unless I misunderstand the meaning of the word "private" in this context, last I checked (OK, so I quit in 2000), ShopKo was a publicly traded company. Tomertalk 05:10, 20 February 2006 (UTC)
Alright, I take it back...to quote from http://www.shopko.com/about/, "In 1991, ShopKo Stores Inc. became a publicly-held, independent company with stock traded on the New York Stock Exchange under the symbol “SKO”. In December of 2005, ShopKo Stores, Inc. became a wholly owned subsidiary of Sun Capital Partners, Inc. and no longer was a publicly-owned corporation." Tomertalk 05:14, 20 February 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Fair use rationale for Image:Shopko.PNG
Image:Shopko.PNG is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If there is other other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 11:46, 6 June 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Why aren't their citations for this page?
This is a fairly large article with a lot of information on Shopko, and yet I hardly see any citations validating any of the information provided. For example, it was originally stated that the company generates annual sales of approximately 3 billion dollars. Then it was later changed to 5.2 billion dollars, staying as such for almost a week. I checked into it and found a website stating they actually generate 2.2 billion. Maybe 3 billion was the accurate amount, but I'm afraid they're might be more information on this page such as the latter that could be incorrect. Some citations would give this page some much needed credibility. —Preceding unsigned comment added by The Always Trusted Scholar (talk • contribs) 00:18, 12 December 2007 (UTC)
