Maybe the NPOV tag isn't totally correct, but the article does have slant. It seems like the last editor added some comments lifted directly from Smart Parts' site.. zer0render 15:47, 27 June 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Change to the Article

The article probably needs to be broken into 4 different pages sometime in the future, but right now there isn't enough to make 4 different pages. First the shocker paintball marker page giving the history and such and then 3 pages noting the different models. The three different models are the original (aka shoe box), SFT, and the NXT. The original shocker was not made by Smart Parts, but Smart Parts did buy the rights to the marker. Then in 2003 the Shocker SFT was manufactured. only thing that the SFT and the original shocker had is common where the name. Later in 2005 or 2006 the NXT was made which had design improvements over SFT, but still basically the same design. The SFT and NXT models and probably go on one page in the future. The majority of the previous article was taken straight from the smart parts website. I have changed it so that it is a unbiased article.

Shockers have always been difficult to maintain. There is no commonly available marker in paintball that requires more effort to keep at a high level of performance. One must lubricate the internals nearly every day the markers is used. This article is very nearly an advertisement for the Shocker, and it most assuredly not unbiased.

[edit] History

The Shocker was originally made in the late 90's by PneuVentures Inc. then somehow Smart Parts ended up the the Shocker and PneuVentures Inc. went out of business. Then Smart Parts made the Shocker Sport. Then the Shocker 4x4. The Shocker was "Reborn" in 2003 with the Shocker SFT. Later on the NXT was made (2005-2006) which was a improved model of the SFT, and came stock with some upgraded parts.Brewyet 19:18, 27 April 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Discrepancies

With the Shocker SFT and NXT the bodys fit the same internals, but the bodies' milling are different.Brewyet 20:13, 27 April 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Open/closed bolt

I know that old model shockers were closed bolt (remember that SP specifically wanted to market a closed bolt electro), but what the hell is this "seal forward technology"? Can someone provide a link to a shocker manual or diagram or something? Kobold 07:25, 1 August 2006 (UTC)

Seal Forward Technology is a system in which the breach of the paintball gun is seal just before the paintball is actually fired. This is one way the gun gets the most amount of shots per air fill, but primairly is for the closed bolt feel it helps give the marker. The shocker not being famous for how much air it uses, every little bit helps.

ALL SFT really means is that there is an o-ring on the front the bolt. And the front o-ring seals with the firing chamber right before the air comes threw the bolt.Brewyet 19:04, 27 April 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Notability tag

I'm removing the notability tag. The Shocker is one of the most important and well-known paintball guns in the ten-million-player sport of paintball. - Maximilli, 19:10, 14 October 2006 (UTC)
