Shox is an arcade, rally game, it is available on the PlayStation 2 console in the USA and Europe.
[edit] Gameplay
Shox is based around the concept of a shockwave that appears in front of your car if you successfully pass, within the timelimit, through three points on a track. The shockwave will then appear, keep up with the wave and you will earn lots of money to buy new cars with. When catching up with the "Shox wave" the screen will appear blurry and making racing fast difficult. The trick is to keep up with it before you reach a new checkpoint, or else it disappears.
Shox features authentic rallycars, ranging from the Subaru Impreza, Porsche Cayenne and Mitsubishi Lancer, which all feature visual damage and dirt from the tracks. The handling, however, is not realistic and is very arcade oriented, the game is somewhat alike the Sega Rally series as such. Winning races will earn money, which pays for car repairs and new cars.
Multiplayer can be played with up to 4 player splitscreen, either with races or capture the flag modes. There is also an option to split each controller so 4 player can be played with only 2 controllers.
