Showdown is the title of an adventure novel written by Tasmanian-born actor Errol Flynn. It was first published in 1946 by Invincible Press (Australia). Flynn draws on his own extensive sailing experience, as well as various other exploits in and around New Guinea, to create this adventure novel.
The novel is dedicated to German-American artist John Decker, who painted Flynn's portrait.
A more factual account of his sailing in this region was published as an autobiography, Beam Ends (1937).
