Shot is an album by the band The Jesus Lizard, its first release on a major label. All of the band's previous studio releases had been produced by Steve Albini, who contributed largely to their signature sound. Of note on this album is the very different production of David Yow's vocals, which are now much clearer and higher in the mix, and Mac McNeilly's drums, which are lower in the mix and not as compressed. Because of this different production technique, a different producer, and other factors, "Shot" received mostly mixed reviews.
